FNSBKG404A Assessment Tool and Marking Guide

We have reviewed the FNSBKG404A BAS & IAS Statements Assessment Tool and Assessor Marking Guide.  The FNS04/07 Assessment Tool has not changed since it was first placed into the market; these changes have come from feedback from some Trainers and directly from our Students.

All Trainers and Assessors will need to review the whole tool before use as changes include:

  • small text corrections
  • revised instructions on tasks in order to set more defined boundaries
  • ability for students to prepare a BAS manually without using the MYOB BASLink
  • the marking guide will reflect all these changes and more indicators for Trainers to look for

The data file has been rolled over so that the financial year is in 2012.  The name of the new files is Floranda V19 2012.  It will now be included on Student CD’s from batch 27.

Be sure to use the sign off areas to prove that the assessment has been carried out under supervision.  This is important when using the RPL method for BAS Agents as the Tax Practitioners Board requires the unit to be supervised.  It is also ideal when delivering via the distance method to be able to guide students in stages so they progress through the tool accurately and supervised.

FNSBKG405A User Guide

Our next big piece of development will be a review on our payroll user guide.  We are hoping to have this finalised by the end of October 2011. To date areas for improvement include (but not limited to):

  • Long Service Leave
  • Reportable Employer Superannuation Contribution (RESC)
  • Clarification on payroll processing instructions on page 173 and 177
  • Text corrections, screen shot corrections and updates to solutions for pages 190, 210, 258, 317, 319.
  • We will also review any web links (but as you know they change without notification)
